The Shot: Sunrise just past the ruins of the old Portuguese Fort Emmanuel –  The local fishermen are up since before dawn with their hand cast nets – many sleep in shelters on the beach. In the background looms the giant traditional Chinese fishing nets, first set up in Kochi, India between 1350-1450. Further in the background is the modern industrial port of Vallarpadam looms in the morning mist. This shot was taken while leading photography group on a dawn shoot.
